NHL player and East Longmeadow Frank Vatrano Comes home to check out MGM Springfield

SPRINGFIELD- East Longmeadow native Frank Vatrano, currently a center with the NHL's Florida Panthers, recently came home to check out the new MGM Springfield resort casino.

On Aug. 31, Vatrano arrived at the recently opened $960 million facility with about 20 friends.

According to a source on site, Vatrano and the group spent the night dancing while enjoying table-side bottle service. Tito's Vodka was the drink of choice as the crew showed off their new hats from the Commonwealth Bar and Lounge.

The Commonwealth Bar and Lounge pays homage to Springfield's legacy, blending a hip atmosphere with a turn-of-the-century vibe.

A feature of this bar is the $25,000 Indian Sidecar, mixed with 1901 single vintage Croizet cognac, Grand Marnier Quintessence, fresh lemon and a gold sugar rim-along with its own Indian Motorcycle and a bottle of 1901 cognac. The special is a tribute to the classic motorcycles that were manufactured in Springfield from 1901 to 1953.
